A large number of Indians or people of Indian origin (PIO) work in the United States. This is not surprising as USA spells professionalism, security and
opportunity. Despite its prosperous economy and almost nil unemployment rate,
the US faces is falling short of qualified professionals to meet the demands of
its ever-expanding high tech industry. The workforce admitted into the US
comprises of those who are specialized in any professional discipline or those
who have a substantial and good job experience. Currently the trend is to
recruit more manpower from the Indian sub-continent, as it is abundant in

a person can either remain or travel continuously in the US.

Normally students are permitted to work in an on-campus
job for a maximum of 20 hours per week when the school is in session. During
vacation the student can take up full time employment on campus. For a student
to work on campus no special work permission is required to be obtained by the
INS. However, for any kind of employment outside the campus INS permission needs
to be sought.
