Ngengpui Wildlife Sanctuary
The Ngengpui Wildlife Sanctuary in Mizoram is spread over an area of 110 sq km, near the Indo-Bangladesh border. Close to Indo-Myanmar and Indo-Bangladesh border, the Ngengpui Wildlife Sanctuary ranges in altitude from 200 m to about 1200 m above sea level. Virgin sub-tropical evergreen / semi-evergreen forests are found in the Ngengpui Wildlife Sanctuary Mizoram. The sanctuary is surrounded by seven villages. It is managed by Range Officer with headquarter Ngengpui, and 5 Beat Officers under the control of DFO Chhimtuipui Forest Division.
Journey to Ngengpui Wildlife Sanctuary Airport :
The nearest airport is Tuirial; but, the air services are not regular. It is advisable to arrive via Silchar airport.
Railhead : Nearest railhead is Silchar which is in Assam. From Guwahati, travel to Silchar by Barak Valley Express, Cachar Express or the Tripura Passenger. From Silchar you can take a bus or taxi to reach the sanctuary by road. |
Road Transport : NH - 54 connects Aizawl (128 km) with the rest of the country through Silchar. Buses and taxis are available from Silchar to Aizawl. Night services are also available. You can either take a bus from Aizawl or from Silchar to reach the sanctuary.
