IndusInd Travel Insurance Claims Procedure - FAQs
Yes, you can request cashless hospitalization by contacting the assistance provider using the number listed in your IndusInd policy schedule as early as possible. Cashless treatment is subject to approval and policy terms. The policy information indicates a minimum 24-hour hospital stay for cashless settlement; shorter stays may require reimbursement. Confirm eligibility before treatment when possible.
Keep your medical reports, original hospital admission and discharge records, bills, receipts, prescriptions, investigation reports, and consultation papers. You may also need your passport and visa copies with entry and exit stamps, PAN and Aadhaar copies, a completed claim form, and Indian bank account details with a cancelled cheque. Confirm the current checklist with the claims team.
You can submit a claim for consideration even if the airline has offered compensation, but payment depends on your policy terms and the circumstances of the loss. Obtain a Property Irregularity Report, retain baggage tags and airline correspondence, and provide proof of compensation received. Include your claim form, travel documents, and other requested supporting records.
Submit your claim form, airline confirmation and correspondence, cancellation charges, receipts for eligible additional expenses, and relevant medical reports and the treating doctor's statement. Your passport, visa, travel itinerary, and bank details may also be required. Whether the cancellation qualifies for reimbursement depends on the insured reasons, applicable limits, and policy exclusions.
Report the loss to the local police and contact the Indian Embassy or consulate when necessary before assembling your claim documents. Retain the police report, copy of your replacement passport or travel certificate, original bills for replacement expenses, and completed claim form. Submit the documents requested by the insurer; reimbursement depends on the applicable policy terms.
Contact the IndusInd claims team promptly to explain which original receipts are missing and ask whether alternative evidence can be accepted. The published checklist requests original medical bills, receipts, prescriptions, and treatment records for overseas medical claims. Travellers over 70 may also face additional policy eligibility requirements. Acceptance of copies or alternative records must be verified.
Emergency purchase receipts alone may not be sufficient to support a baggage-delay claim. Retain your baggage tags, the airline's written confirmation of the delay and delivery time, the Property Irregularity Report, and original invoices for expenses incurred during the delay. Include evidence of any airline compensation and the other documents requested by IndusInd. Eligibility and payable limits require policy verification.
The published claims guidance states that processing may take seven working days after the insurer receives all complete claim documents. The claims team also indicates that the claim form and document checklist are sent within 24 hours of claim intimation. These timelines are not a guarantee of settlement; incomplete paperwork, verification requirements, and claim-specific circumstances may affect the process.
