We are delighted to welcome on board Arjun Raja, our new cricket columnist. Current Indian stars such as Dravid, Srinath and Kumble have all played under Arjuns captaincy when he led the Karnataka junior sides.
A stylish left-handed batsman, Arjun also played for Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy championships during 1988-92, and holds the record for the highest score of 267 in first class cricket by a Karnataka batsman. This score of 267, made against Bengal in 1991 at Eden Gardens in Calcutta, also remains the highest individual score by a Karnataka batsman in Ranji trophy history. In addition, he also played for the Rest of India team in the Irani trophy, and was a member of the Wills XI squad in 1991.
Originally from Bangalore, Arjun is now an NRI himself, and currently lives in Dubai, UAE.
