Travel health insurance for Indian tourists visiting the Canada

The large Indian expatriate community in Canada which is often referred as the 'East Indian' community to distinguish it from the Native American Indian communities is close to 1.5 million strong, which makes it almost 3.5% of the Canadian total population. This is a very successful community, and have made its presence felt in all facets of Canadian society. The Canadian cabinet in fact is well represented by the East Indian community. While this community is visible across the country, it is most concentrated in the two ends of the country, specifically in provinces of Ontario and British Columbia and within these provinces in the cities of Toronto and Vancouver.
What is endearing about the Canadian Indian community is that along with its visible success, it continues to retain and strengthen ties with India. One visible result of this relationship is the frequent travel by parents, in-laws, grand-parents and other family members from India who often travel to Canada for extended durations to be with children and grand-children. A word of caution to these Indian travellers is the need for good visitor medical insurance while outside India. The Indian health insurance policy will not provide any coverage while in Canada, and Canadian medical care is expensive for international visitors who are not permanent residents of Canada.
