| Overseas Indian Student Network: Community Section
As a student in a foreign country you suddenly find yourself in an alien environment. No doubt intimidating, here even
trivial tasks can be daunting. However most disconcerting in this situation is loneliness. Deprived of a comforting family and
familiar friends you probably feel very very alone.
The main aim of OIS-NET is to alleviate this loneliness. OIS-NET aims to
build a community of students, to create a bond where often times, none exists.
Here are some of the features we have to build this student community,
Student Forums
This allows visitors to discuss freely with each other. OIS-NET requests users
to be civil, and not misuse this facility.
Events Calendar
Here students can post information about events. The events can be academic, cultural, religious or social.
20 Questions
Ever wondered what other Indian students are like, or what their views are
on a variety of subjects? Well, ponder no longer. As the name indicates, we
put 20 Questions to our fellow overseas Indian students, to seek their
opinions and put names on the sea of anonymous faces.
Free Bulletin board
This is quite literally a cyber bulletin board where students can post
information to spread the word with other students. This feature can be
used with limitless possibilities, ranging from looking for roommates,
to selling an automobile, from selling/buying a book, to even looking for a
spouse. You can have your pick!
