Atlas International insurance is a popular visitor travel medical insurance among American citizens when they travel abroad. It offers pre-existing conditions coverage. It is administered by HCC Medical Insurance Services Insurance.


Atlas International Insurance satisfies Schengen visa requirements. After purchasing Schengen Visa travel insurance policy you can obtain the letter as required by the Schengen Consulates.

Eligibility
  • Only US Citizens and non-US citizens whose travel does not include the continental USA, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, except US citizens whose travel includes an Incidental Trip to the USA, and who are at least 14 days of age are eligible for coverage under this plan.
Policy Maximum
  • Age 14 days through 69 years: $50,000, $100,000, $200,000, $500,000 or $1,000,000.
  • Age 70 to 79 years: $50,000.
  • Age 80 and above:Plan A - $10,000.
Deductible
  • $0, $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or $2,500 per certificate period
Co-insurance
  • Claims incurred in U.S. or Canada:
    • For the certificate period, underwriters will pay 80% of the next $5,000 of eligible expenses after the deductible, then 100% to the overall maximum limit.
    • Coinsurance will be waived if expenses are incurred within the ppo and expenses are submitted to underwriters for review and payment directly to the provider
  • Claims incurred outside U.S. or Canada:
    • For the certificate period, underwriters will pay 100% of eligible expenses after the deductible up to the overall maximum limit.
Coverage
  • Emergency dental (acute onset of pain): $250 limit per certificate period (not subject to deductible or coinsurance).
  • Trip interruption: $5,000 limit per certificate period (not subject to deductible or coinsurance).
  • Lost checked luggage: $250 limit per certificate period (not subject to deductible or coinsurance).
  • Local Ambulance: Usual, reasonable and customary charges, when covered illness or injury results in hospitalization as inpatient.
  • Accidental death and dismemberment (excludes loss due to common carrier accident): Not subject to deductible or coinsurance.
  • Insured aged 18 years and older: Lifetime maximum - $25,000; Death - $25,000; Loss of 2 limbs - $25,000; Loss of 1 limb - $12,500; Benefits reduce 50% at age 70 and an additional 50% at age 75.
  • Insureds under 18 years:Lifetime maximum - $5,000; Death - $5,000; Loss of 2 limbs - $5,000; Loss of 1 limb - $2,500; $250,000 maximum benefit any one family.
Benefit Period
  • 90 days

Accidental Death & Dismemberment
  • Additional $50,000 up to a total of $100,000 coverage at an additional price of $0.25 per day.

Children Coverage
  • This plan has a provision that a child under 10 years is covered free with one parent.
  • If both mother and father are buying the plan together then 2 kids under age 10 years are covered free.
  • One kid under age 10 per parent is covered free under this plan.

Acute Onset of Pre-Existing Conditions
  • An acute onset of a pre-existing condition is a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a pre-existing condition which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of physician recommendations or symptoms. Treatment must be obtained within 24 hours of the sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence.
 

Pre-Existing Conditions
  • Plan Maximum:
    • $100,000, $200,000, $500,000 or $1,000,000.
    • $50,000.

  • Pre-existing Condition Coverage Limit:
    • $100,0000 lifetime maximum for eligible medical expenses.
    • $50,0000 lifetime maximum for eligible medical expenses.

  • Covers travelers under the age of 70 years $25,000 lifetime maximum for emergency medical evacuation.
 

Atlas International satisfies schengen visa requirements
  • The schengen consulate has mandated that the insurance plan must offer a coverage of atleast €30,000 and Atlas International Insurance satisfies this requirement by offering the following medical maximums:
    • Age below 70 years: $50,000, $100,000, $200,000, $500,000 or $1,000,000.
    • Age 70 to 79 years: $50,000.

  • Schengen Visa requires that the insurance plan must offer a coverage for Repatriation and the plan covers the insured for repatriation of remains up to the choosen overall maximum benefit.

  • As per the schengen consulate the insurance plan must cover for Emergency Medical Evacuation and this plan covers emergency medical evacuation up to $500,000 lifetime maximum.

  • Schengen Visa requires that the insurance provider must have a representive office in the schengen countries and HCCMIS has a representative bureau in the schengen countries
