An independent Slovakia Republic was established on 1 January 1993 following division of former Czechoslovakia into Czech Republic and Slovakia. Slovakia Republic is a member state of the European Union, NATO, OECD, WTO, and other international organizations.. Koruna is the Slovakian national currency.
Slovakia Republic is spread around 49,000 square kilometers with a population of above five million. Bratislava is the largest city and capital of the country. The country borders with Ukraine to the east, Czech Republic and Austria to the west, Poland to the north and Hungary to the south. Slovensko" is the native language of Slovakia Republic. The country enjoys moderate weather with cool summers, cold and cloudy winters. The mountainous country also has many beautiful lakes and valleys which attract tourist from different parts of the world.
