Bio-data of Sajal Sarkar Born in Calcutta in 1963. He graduated in Painting from Govt. College of Art and Craft, Calcutta in 1989 and did his Post-Diploma from M.S. University, Baroda in 1995. He has held 6 solo shows and has participated in the Annual Exhibitions of the Bombay Art Society and the Birla Academy of Art and Culture. His other group shows include the National Exhibition of Art, Banglore in 1997, the Exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts Calcutta, the International Print Biennale, Bhopal in 1997, "Contemporary Indian Art" at Y.B. Chavan Centre, Mumbai, and "Young Baroda" at Art Today, New Delhi. He was awarded the AIFACS Scholarship in 1990 and 1995, the Junior Fellowship, Dept. of Culture, Govt. of India in 1995-97, the Elizabeth Greenshield Foundation Grant from Canada in 1996 and the Bendre-Husain Scholarship from Bombay Arts Society in 1996-97. He lives and works in Baroda. |
