Bio-data of Surya Prakash

Born in Madhira, Andhra Pradesh in 1940. He studied painting in Hyderabad and worked under Ram Kumar at New Delhi. He has held several one man shows, and has participated in the Paris Biennale 1971, Five Indian Artists 1981 at Manheiem, Germany, Modern Indian Art at Kunstalle, Germany in 1982, Modern Indian Painting at Hirshorn Museum, Washington in 1982, Indian Contemporary Art Exhibition at the Art Museum, Ginza, Tokyo in 1995 and the "New South" exhibition in London.

He has travelled extensively, has had a documentary film made on his life and work, and has even published a Book "A journey beyond colours". He has been awarded the Title "Kala Vibhushan" by the All India Fine Arts Society, New Delhi.

Surya Prakash lives and works in Hyderabad.
