Bio-data of Sunil Das

Born in 1939 in Calcutta. Sunil Das studied at the Govt. College of Arts and Crafts, Calcutta and later at the Ecole National Superior des beaux arts, Atelier 17 and Atelier Julien, all in Paris With over 30 one man shows and 90 group shows in various countries around the world, he is an artist on whom several awards have been heaped upon. He received the National Award way back in 1959. In 1960 a Gold Medal from the Calcutta University got him the French Govt. Scholarship. In 1983 he was the Commissioner at the New Delhi Triennale and in 1989 the Commissioner at the Sao Paulo Biennale, Brazil.

Sunil Das lives and works in Calcutta.
