Bio-data of Jayant Parikh

Born in Bandhini, Gujarat in 1940. He completed his Post-Diploma in painting, under Prof. Bendre at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda in 1962. He was offered the Govt. of India Research Fellowship from 1978 to 1980.

He is a veteran artist with 55 one man shows in all major Indian cities. His International participations include Saigon in 1962, Leipzig in Germany in 1965, Philippines in 1965, Poland in 1971, the Biennale in Paris in 1971 and the 2nd Asian Art Exhibition at Furukawa, Japan in 1984.

He has won the Bronze Medal and the Governor's Prize at the Bombay Art Society Annual in 1959 and 1961, the Gold Medal at the International Graphics Exhibition Germany in 1965, the Diploma of Merit at Saigon in 1962 and the National Award in 1970 and 1980.

He lives and works in Baroda.
