US-based Yale University is planning to announce "sizeable" scholarships and stipends for Indian students for the academic year '04-'05 which starts in February-March. According to PTI reports, the announcement is likely to be made by Yale University President Richard C Levin during his visit to India next week.
A 12-member delegation, comprising Yale faculty members and administrators, is scheduled to meet central and state ministers and captains of the industry during their visit to New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai
Among the distinguished Indian alumni of Yale include Rakesh Mohan, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Pepsi Co. President Indra Nooyi and Newsweek International Editor Fareed Zakaria.
India ranks fourth in number of international students currently pursuing studies at Yale, after China, Canada and Korea.
