'Bombay Dreams' to take bow on 1st January 2005
|
|
Andrew Lloyd Webber's lavish musical Bombay Dreams will end its Broadway run on New Year's Day (01JAN05).
The musical, which opened in New York on April 29 with some alterations in comparison with its original London version, may not have been an unqualified critical success but has managed to capture popular imagination.
The Bollywood-style show has reportedly did not recoup the estimated $14 million (GBP7.3 million) invested into it when it made its way from London to New York.
The show will have played 284 performances when it ends. Producers still plan to take the show on the road.
