A Non Resident Indian, Arun Sarin comes back to the Vodafone group as the next Chief Executive. He will get a base salary of 1.1 million pounds per annum. Arun is a graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology. Mr. Sarin has an MS in Engineering and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.
The 48 year old Arun Sarin is currently the Chief Executive of Accel-KKR Telecom which is based in San Francisco. Prior to this, Mr. Sarin was CEO of InfoSpace, Inc., a global internet infrastructure company. Prior to that, he was CEO of Vodafone’s America/Asia Pacific business. Prior to the Vodafone-AirTouch merger in 1999, Mr. Sarin served as President and COO of AirTouch Communications, a position he took after spending two years as President and CEO of AirTouch International.
