Sanjaya Malakar, the most talked about American Idol contestant was finally voted out. There are currently six contestants remaining in the field. The seventeen year old Sanjaya whose father is Bengali has been in the limelight throughout the contest. While his singing talent has been suspect, there was no denying his charisma. Thanks to his ever changing hairstyle and toothy grin, Sanjaya managed to steal the show. Despite being ridiculed by the contests judges, Sanjaya won a fan base who kept him in the competition till the final seven stage.
At a press conference after being voted out, Sanjaya said that he was definitely looking for a music career, but would want to venture into acting and modeling and possibly Broadway. Given the media publicity that he has attracted, Sanjaya is poised to succeed even after being voted out of the American Idol competition.
