Official figures for the thriving British capital London which is home to 7.3 million people show that people born in India outnumber those from any other country living there. Indian-born Londoners numbered 206,000 in the three months ending June this year, said the Office of National Statistics, which is responsible for producing economic and social statistics, registering life events and building the decennial population census. It said, the figures represented a great leap forward in the number of Indian Londoners from 1997 when 144,000 India-born residents were living there. This year, the Irish are trailing both Indian and Bangladeshi Londoners in the population table. The number of British-born Londoners has fallen by 150,000, however they still number more than five million.
