Indo-American Arts Council in New York is organizing a five day-long film festival focusing on the Indian Diaspora. The film festival runs from November 5 – 9 and will have 18 feature and documentary films.
The films are in both English and Hindi and revolve around the life of the south Asians living in America and are shot entirely in the US. The films showcase an entire range of film makers and actors. Among the known Bollywood stars are Naseeruddin Shah, Jackie Shroff, Abhishek Bachchan and Lara Dutta.
Novelist Salman Rushdie will be giving away the prize to the award winning films.
