Ranjana Clark of Wachovia Bank is featured on the cover of this month’s prestigious American banking magazine USBanker . She features in the lead article titled “The 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking”. She is ranked 20th in the overall ranking.
According to the article, the 43-year-old Ranjana didn't even know how to speak English until age 7. She came to the United States 16 years ago. The daughter of a senior Indian government official, Ranjana grew up in Calcutta and New Delhi, speaking Bengali and Hindi. Ranjana has a Bachelors degree (economics) and a first Masters (marketing and sales) degree in India.
Ranjana received rave reviews for successfully overseeing the complex integration between two large American banks, First Union and Wachovia Bank.
