American Indian Foundation (AIF), a leading institution building a bridge between the NRI community in the US and development activities in India, has pledged its partnership in the IT@School programme of the Kerala Government.
According to an UNI report, the partnership envisages a three-year commitment of AIF to bring in resources, including funds, in terms of managing IT education at a few select schools.
As a first commitment, 100,000 US Dollar (Rs 4,500,000) has been announced by the AIF for immediate roll out of the programme in about 10-12 under-privileged schools either at Thiruvananthapuram or Ernakulam districts.
The partnership has been a result of month-long interactions between the AIF and the State IT Department to evolve a platform for facilitating NRI community participation in development activities.
