India's 57th Independence Day was celebrated around the globe today with the traditional unfurling of the tri-colour.
In Delhi, the Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari delivered a short but inspiring 23 minute speech from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort.
The celebrations will be also be held this weekend in many cities around the globe. In New York, famous Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is to lead a host of celebrities at the India Day Parade. In Philadelphia, the celebration will along held on August 16th on Penns Landing along the Delaware River.
