The Singapore Government recently recognized an Indian couple for their efforts during the SARS crisis in the city state. They awarded the Indian couple Denis Menezes and his wife Anita with the President's Certificate of Commendation.
The couple Captain Denis Menezes and his wife Anita, who are originally from Mangalore have been residents of Singapore for Nine years now. When the SARS crisis was at its peak in April this year, the resourceful couple set up an informative website www.sars.com.sg about the disease.
The Menezes couple is the only individual pair among the 102 recipients of the award. The remaining 101 awardees were organizations such as government agencies, hospitals and media companies in Singapore.
