Three Indians were among the 116 people who died in the airline crash in Sudan on Tuesday, July 8. The Sudan Airways Boeing 737 was starting an internal flight from Port Sudan to the capital Khartoum, 410 miles to the southwest, when its captain reported trouble.
The airliner plunged into a hillside while attempting an emergency landing, killing 116 people and leaving one survivor, a 3-year-old boy
found injured but alive amid a scene of charred corpses.
The plane crashed into an empty area about 3½ miles from the airport.
