NRI among victims in Washington D.C. shooting spree

A taxi driver of Indian origin, Prem Kumar Walakar, was among five persons gunned down one by one in a random shooting spree in a Washington D.C. suburb. All the victims died within five miles of one another during a 16-hour span Wednesday night and Thursday.

Prem Kumar Walakar a part time taxi driver was shot at a gas station at about 8:15 a.m on Thursday October 3rd.

None of the victims appeared to have been robbed, and police said race did not appear to be a motive. The victims were Hispanic and white other than Prem who was Indian.
