At the Miss America pageant to be held on September 21st, the Delaware state will be represented by an American of Indian descent - Miss Shoha Parekh. Shoha is representing her state by virtue of being Miss Delaware for the year 2002.
Shoha has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. There she was awarded a Promising Artist Award and a Fuji Film Award for Documentary Photography. Her talent also includes being a Bharatnatyam dancer. Shoha plans to get her Ph.D in South Asian Art History and she would like to be an entrepreneur of a fine art, print and photography gallery. Shoha’s parents Kirti & Malti Parekh were born in India.
