The majority of NRIs feel the US model of retirement
homes is not suited for India. In response to the
question, "As an NRI, would you consider the US model
of retirement homes good for parents back home in
India?", a little over half of those who voted
(54.2%) felt that it was not suited for India.
However 41.8% of the voters, answered the question in
the affirmative. This is perhaps a reflection on the
number of NRIs with elderly parents living in India
without any support.
