Sukhpal Singh, the brother of Balbir Singh Sodhi who was a victim of post September 11 hate crime, was killed on Sunday morning in San Francisco. Sukpal Singh, 52, was shot while driving his Taxi by someone outside the vehicle at 4 am Sunday morning.
According to media reports, gunshots were heard when Sukhpal's cab swerved off the road and struck a parked car which resulted in it bursting into flames. The cab then sheared off an electrical pole snapping high and low-voltage wires. Sukhpal was pronounced dead at the scene with at least one gunshot wound. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a son, who are in Punjab.
Sukhpal’s brother Balbir, a gas station owner in Mesa, Arizona, was killed by a gunman last year soon after the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York.
