Because of increasing passport violations, Bangalore's police have decided to revamp the immigration setup at the international airport, according to the Deccan Herald.
The city police's top boss, Mr H T Sangliana, admitted that immigration officials were also involved in the fake passport rackets. He said that new and dependable police
officers, preferably women, would be properly trained and front the immigration counters.
The Deccan Herald adds that 87 cases of fake passports were found since 1997. Further, media reports say that Pakistanis have been trying to get hold of Indian identities to
further terrorist activities in the country.
