NRI maid acquitted of murder by Singapore Court
|
|
An Indian maid who bludgeoned her Singaporean employer to death was
sentenced to jail for four and a half years after the judge ruled there had
been no intention to kill. Thamayanthi was acquitted of the capital charge
of murder but was convicted of the lesser crime of causing grievous injuries
to her 67-year-old female boss. Thamayanthi used a telephone to bash the
head of her employer in March, the court was told. She was also accused of
robbing her.
