Bollywood's Yaadein has entered the UK's top 10 list of movies just a few days after its premiere, according to the Times of India.
This, in the face of competition of the likes of Jurassic Park 3 and Dr Dolittle 2.
In terms of first weekend earnings, the movie has out outstripped those of the other Bollywood hits, Lagaan, Taal and Gaddar. However, the success of the
movie abroad is not surprising. Subhash Ghai, the director of Yaadein, was quoted as saying, ""We're targeting the global Indian."
Despite the movie's popularity, it doesn't seem to have everyone enthralled. One 30-year-old viewer said that he felt the movie was targeted at a teenage audience or
even younger age-group. Another said it was too long.
