The Indian IT industry will do a series of roadshows in the US, Europe, Australia and Japan to counter the effects of the slowdown in the world economy, according to the Economic Times.
Over 150 Indian companies will take part in roadshows in US cities such as New York, Chicago, San Jose, Houston and Washington DC. Around 200 companies plan to visit London in September for an unspecified Indo-European summit, and 70 firms will go to Tokyo in July. Further, Dewang Mehta, President of NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Service Companies), is making presentations to four of the Australian Fortune 500 companies in Sydney and Melbourne starting on Monday.
Saurabh Srivastava, Executive Chairman of Xansa India (formerly IIS Infotech) was quoted as saying, “In the wake of a slowdown, we could definitely do with some drumbeats and make the right noises, while focusing on the newer markets and opportunities.”
