Slump in US demand for IT professionals

The slow down in the US economy has had an huge adverse impact in demand for overseas technology professionals according to an UNI report. The report quoting a study by the Information Technology Association of America, states that the demand for computer professionals has gone down by 45 percent.
Excerpts of the study released by The Washington Post said the high-tech industry across US plans to hire only 9,00,000 technical workers during 2001 when compared to 1.6 million appointments in the year 2000.
