India ranks 22nd for total exports
India retains the 22nd position among 46 countries for the total volume of exports according to the Asiaweek magazine. This is the same rank reported earlier in July 2000. While this position is far from encouraging, there has been a steady increase in exports during the past decade.
There are no surprises in the top ten with the affluent Group of Seven countries capturing top positions. The G7 are followed by China which is then followed by many South East Asian countries.
The United States is on top with 764 billion US Dollars in exports. India has exports worth 41.9 billion Dollars, an increase from the 37.5 billion Dollars reported in July 2000 for its 22nd position.
