Dubai has asked Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chadrababu Naidu to help develop its IT infrastructure, according to the Khaleej Times. Dubai seeks the state's help in areas like e-governance, e-commerce and e-education.
Speaking at a function organised by the Andhra Cultural Forum at the Al Nasr Leisureland Ice rink in Dubai, Mr Naidu said his talks with the Crown Prince of Dubai, General Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, focused on IT and tourism amongst other topics.
The Chief Minister also said he signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai to develop tourism in his state, particularly as Dubai had made itself one of the top tourist destinations in the region.
Separately, Mr Naidu said he would talk to the Indian central government about direct Dubai- Hyderabad flights, and ruled out the need for a separate body to deal with the interests of Andhra's NRIs.
