Prime Minister Vajpayee gave the inaugural speech at the International
Convention of the Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin recently in
New Delhi.
In his speech, Mr Vajpayee charted the progress of Indians abroad over the
ages, starting with those who were indentured labourers working on tea and
sugar plantations in the 19th century, to the dazzling exploits of NRIs in
Silicon Valley today.
