A magazine published by consultancy company AT Kearnye ranks India in 49th place out of 50 countries in terms of globalisation, media reports say. India finished ahead of Iran, but way below Singapore, which topped the list.
India ranked last on indicators for tourism, travel and international telephone calls.
The area in which India scored well is transfer payments - mainly money sent from NRIs - and the magazine said that NRIs play an "extremely important role" in sustaining India's economy.
But the moot question is - is globalisation good or not? Even if India finished last, would that be such a bad thing?
