The Andhra Pradesh government is considering reducing the minimum percentage for admission to engineering courses from 60% to 50% for NRI students, the Deccan Chronicle reports.
Private colleges complained that their NRI quota seats were going vacant because NRI students were going to Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra, where the minimum acceptable percentage is 50%.
A decision is expected within the next 10 days.
