An Indian assistant professor has won an award for excellence in teaching at the University of Missouri (Kansas city), media reports say.
Jayesh Thaker, 37, was one of four teachers who received the Elmer F. Pierson award, named after a graduate of the university’s law school. Thaker hails from Gujarat and completed his MBBS from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
He came to the US in 1993, and after completing his medical residency in 1997, has been working as an assistant professor of internal medicine.
