India ranks 10 among 46 economies for the total foreign exchange reserves. According to the Asiaweek magazine, Japan leads the pack with reserves of $338.1b, while China is second with $158b. India has the 10th position thanks to its foreign exchange reserve of $33.8b.
While there is scope for improving this ranking, India can feel happy that three out of the affluent Group of Seven (G7) countries namely Canada, Britain and Italy have reserves less than India.
