Arati who has been protesting against the cruel treatment of cows in India as a member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) had earlier been convicted of misdemeanour. This misdemenour charge was for tossing a tofu pie at Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman during a demonstration.
As part of her probation, Arati had reported to her supervising officer in Norfolk Virginia.
