South Korea is the latest country to join the list of countries wooing Indian IT brains. According to a Business Times report, Korea is planning to introduce a Gold Card scheme which will allow professionals to work in the Korean IT industry.
South Korea will be following the United States, Britain, Germany, Japan and other European countries who are also hoping to attract trained Indian IT professionals. According to the report, South Korea immediately needs 3000 experienced IT professionals, and this figure is expected to increase exponentially in the next few years.
The success of Korean efforts remains to be seen. So far the United States remains the favorite destination for Indians. The German Green card scheme has not enthused the Indians very much with barely 500 applications reported to date.
