The President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), A C Muthiah disclosed that cricketers found guilty of match fixing would be banned from playing. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is finalizing its report and BCCI is seriously considering removing the names of the guilty from all record books.
In order to prevent such dastardly acts in the future BCCI is finalizing on a 'Code of Conduct' that players will be enforced to respect. In addition BCCI is submitting a 'Statement of Intent' to the Union Sports Minister Sukdhev Singh outlining the scheme for developing Cricket in the country.
The cricketing world over the last few months is shocked and disappointed to see cricket, once called a 'Gentlemen's' Game' tainted with match-rigging and money laundering. The Indian cricket fans are vastly disillusioned with their love for the game. It seems like the damage is irreparable!
Sure, it is good to bring the guilty to justice but has the sport lost its respect forever. Cricket fans all over the world would hate to see the game talked about on the same lines as WWF wrestling.
