Software exports have shot up to $4 billion, up by 57% in the year to March 2000, news reports say.According to the Indian software organisation NASSCOM, 62%of software exports were to the US and Canada, and about 23.5% to Europe.
NASSCOM’s President, Dewang Mehta, was quoted as saying that 185 of the Fortune 500 companies used software from India, and that "This clearly establishes that more and more global companies are outsourcing their software requirements to India and are gaining a competitive advantage.
