Indian IT giant Infosys is to set up a "Proximity Development Centre" in the UK, according to a report in the Hindustan Times.
Srinjay Sengupta, Head of European Business Development for Infosys, was quoted as saying: "Our Proximity Development Center in the UK enables us to be physically near our customers and work in the same time zone - as well as working closely with staff in India to reduce time to market."
Infosys recently won a contract, estimated at £28m, with the UK supermarket giant Sainsbury's.
