February 9, 2000 Pandit Ravi Shankar to get French award
France is awarding its highest civilian honour to sitar genius Pandit Ravi Shankar, according to news agency reports. The 79 year-old Shankar will receive the Commander of the Legion of Honour for his contribution to music.
