Overview of US media coverage on president Clintons visit

This week India was featured quite prominently in the US media for obvious reasons. However other than the political ramification of President Clintons visit, there was some positive coverage on the economic front as well, in particular on the Information technology sector.

As far as the TV coverage goes, ABC news was quite easily the most comprehensive. The popular news anchor Peter Jennings was in India during the first leg of the president tour. Along with covering the main events on President Clintons schedule, the station also had an hour long program on Monday night titled "The Dark Horizon - India, Pakistan and the bomb". This program as the title suggests traces the tension between India and Pakistan over Kashmir since 1947. Click here to access the program.

ABC News also had a feature on India strides in Information technology with a focus on Bangalore. This program was titled - India's 'Silicon Plateau' and can be accesed by clicking here.

The latest issue of TIME magazine has a feature article titled "The Faces of India's Future" The article features four known personalities as reflecting India's destiny in the years to come. Click here for the article.

CNN is currently conducting an opinion poll on Indo-US relations. The poll asks the question "Do you think the United States and India should forge a strong alliance for the 21st century? ". The poll can be accessed by clicking here.
