Society for Appreciation of Bharatiya Heritage and Arts (SABHA)

Introduction
The Society for Appreciation of Bharatiya Heritage and Arts (SABHA)aims to promote an awareness of and foster interest in Indian (Bharatiya) heritage and arts. This is achieved through concerts, lecture demonstrations and workshops of various art forms, with a focus on classical music and dance. SABHA strives to emphasize high quality in all its endeavours, to encourage and inspire a participatory atmosphere amongst a wide audience in Universities and local communities, and to provide free access to all its programs and resources.

Initiated at the University of Cincinnati, the activities of SABHA are highlighted in a formal educational context especially in association with the College Conservatory of Music (CCM) at the University. Being in a state-of-the-art academic environment, SABHA has also set up a computer information system to facilitate world-wide exchange of cultural ideas over the Internet.

SABHA is a non-profit student organization with funding and support from the University, other organizations and members of the community. The organization is well recognized in the University and the local community for bringing the rich Indian arts and Culture to Cincinnati. All SABHA programs are free of any admission charge and open to public.

Funding
SABHA's major sources of financial assistance are from:
The Ohio Arts Council, Columbus, Ohio
The Student Organization and Activities Board of University of Cincinnati

The community members of Cincinnati, through their liberal donations. We cannot thank their contributions enough. Having chipped in at many instances with valuable support, they have helped us maintain our programs and concerts FREE for everybody who is interested.
