This is an international music event hosted by Indian Music lovers from interior of
Aichi Prefecture in Japan. Dr. Chandrakant Sardeshmukh who is senior
disciple of Pt. Ravi Shankar and Mrs. Annapurnadevi, will play the
traditional Indian Sitar with American Tabla player Robert Belgrade, who
is a disciple of Pt. Sapan Chaudhari. He has studied Indian Music in Ali Akbar Khan
College, U.S. In addition to traditional Indian Sitar, Dr Chandrakant will also perform
separate joint session each with Shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute),
Shamisen, Koto and Jushichigen, (All Japanese string instruments ) along
with Japanese drums. All artists playing Japanese instruments are native
Japanese.
The grand finale featuring all the above Japanese instruments including
drums and Indian Sitar with Tabla, is composed by Dr. Chandrakant.
