Mick Taylor - Sitar
Utad Sabir Khan - Tabla
Harri Sivanesen - Veena
M Balachandar - MridangamThis programme of Hindustani and carnatic instrumental music presents two of the UK’s outstanding performers of the sitar and the veena. Mick Taylor is one of the few western exponents of the vocal style of sitar playing known as gayaki and his playing is especially noted for its sweetness and depth of feeling. Harri Sivanesen is an exceptional veena player who is showing rare genius, talent and maturity at a very young age. He recently spent time studying in India on a scholarship from the Asian Music Circuit.
