Dear Sir,
I want to raise an eyebrow or two with this letter. I want to invest in India in a way that it benefits in
the society both by helping the economy and also by assisting in community development.
Here is my story I want to set up a Environmental and social NGO in Andaman and Nicobar Islands which is a restricted area and
a Union Territory. My investment over the next ten years for the islands will be over 1 million Euros.
The problem is that even though I have a PIO card it does not help me register in the islands.
Apparently even PIO card holders cannot stay over 180 days in India, and I cannot register myself to live on the islands as
I am forced to leave every 45 days due to the expiration of my temporary tourist permit.
Now when the honorable Prime Minister, Shri Vajpayee asked us to come and assist in working to build our great country, I responded and I came. Here I am
but am not able to stay.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
Thank you,
Hasmukh Jiwa
